Research in the area of programmable automation (e.g. robotics, tool path planning and navigation), leading to commercial solutions and their scale up.
Process research to understand the "science"  behind a phenomenon (e.g. manufacturing processes) and its exploitation for large-scale impact in commercial processes.
System thinking and knowledge integration to promote solutions of impact (e.g. new business development) for a larger cross-section of the society.
